 The Vilect Video Phone - VLP – 104™
Vilect introduces the first consumer-oriented broadband videophone appliance that broadcasts live video conversations right through your television. The VLP-104 enables two-way video interaction between individuals in any setting from one-on-one conversations - to a mass video feed - to hundreds of thousands of persons engaging in the product offering, to streaming video for television broadcasts.
The Vilect video phone is the best solution for video relay users who want the highest-quality video image. Unlike PC-based solutions, which limit the video screen to a small “matchbox-size” window on your computer, the Vilect video phone allows users to enlarge the video screen size on a TV.
This IP-based set-top box uses advanced video compression technology to maximize the image and audio quality within the available bandwidth. The video phone can send and receive video at up to a full 30 frames per second, television quality.
The device supports the most advance compression technology which enables it to deliver optimal video quality even in networks with limited bandwidth. In addition to live video conversations, Vilect can deliver high quality video streams including online TV (IPTV) in the form of Video-on-Demand, directly to the television with no 3rd party intermediary device.
V – V – N (Vilect Video Network)
Built from the ground up with advance video management technology, this advanced communications network directs and manages millions of video calls from across the globe. By using the user IP address, the device MAC address, and the video phone directory database, the network intelligently transmits the encoded (compressed) video over the broadband infrastructure. No special network connection is required for setup. A simple broadband internet connection enables the video phone to register with the VVN and communicate with other nodes across the Internet.
The Vilect Video Network™ (VVN)™ is built on state-of-the art video broadcasting technology. A highlight of network services includes:
- Custom configuration – Users set personal preferences which define their network environment and the people they interact with.
- User provisioning – Unlike private video-conferencing or random web cam connections; the VVN™ uniquely identifies each users, assigns their home phone number to their video phone, and registers them in the global network directory.
- Usage Metering – Network traffic monitors enable users to track time and usage of their video phone and the VVN.
- Personal Account Billing – For remote, professional services, users can define their custom billing rate to be mapped to timed video sessions enabling a myriad of remote services to be tracked and billed.
- Security Filters – Users configure their profile to limit access to their personal information. They can publish as much or as little of their profile information.
- Parental Controls – For minors, parents can configure the system to permit access to a select universe of friends and family. Both incoming and outgoing calls can be restricted based upon a myriad of criteria that are established with administrative access to the system.
